Project #7 - Melody
First Part (7.1)
OBJECTIVE: To compose an original melody. You may compose on Noteflight or on Garageband.
- Your melody should have a rhythmic motive (repetitive rhythm).
- Your melody should be at least 16 measures (64 beats in 4/4) long (longer if you like).
- Your melody should have a clear home tone and should be "singable" (not too many leaps).
- Your melody should be interesting to listen to (not too many steps).
- Your melody should include repetition, variation, and contrast.
- You may use text, but you don't have to.
This project will include turning in a First Draft, revising your draft, then adding another element (harmony, countermelody, drum beat) to your melody before submitting it as a Final Draft AUDIO FILE.
Second Part (7.2)
After you finish your melody revisions, you will add another element to your melody (harmony, countermelody, another contrasting section, drumbeat, etc) to create a more whole SONG. You should submit this as an audio file.
