Project #12 - Create a Podcast
This project may be done alone or in groups of 2 (no more than 2).
OBJECTIVE: To produce a brief (about 2:00-3:00) podcast episode featuring several sound clips (original or borrowed) and a recorded narration from a brief, original script.
Steps:
1. Learn about podcasting and listen to examples.
2. Choose a musical topic that interests you (the music of a favorite artist or band, a favorite genre of music, the life of a favorite artist, etc). Topics must be appropriate for school use. Get your topic approved by Mrs. Morel!
3. Choose a title for your podcast.
4. Research your topic and write the script. (100-300 words. 300 words = 3:00 of nonstop narration).
Follow this general guideline for narration:
5. Find at least 3 sound clips to go with your script. Plan where they will go in the podcast. You may use original sound clips or sound clips from GarageBand.
6. Rehearse, then record your narration. Tip: record in chunks so you don't have to keep going back to the beginning if you make a mistake. Remember that you can split, delete, and re-record if need be.
7. Optional: add theme/intro music, closing music, sound effects. Let your creativity be your guide!
8. Export your podcast as an mp3.
